28 cards, drawn for viewing distances of 30 · 60 · 120 · 250 cm. Download, print at 100%, and put it where it will actually be looked at.

By two to three months there is more to work with: patterns can be a little finer, and a simple schematic face joins the set. A face is not magic — a newborn will look at any high-contrast blob with the right spacing — but by now the preference is real and worth feeding.

Print at 100%. Choose “Actual size” / “100%” in the print dialog — “Fit to page” resizes the sheet and the size is the whole point.Check your printer once and every card after that comes out right.

Not a medical device. Enrichment and accessibility prints, not a diagnostic or therapeutic tool — for premature, CVI or low-vision care, follow your clinicians. Mount prints where they cannot be pulled down, and never inside a cot with a baby in it (mounting safely).

no a4.pdf: at 60 cm the 'shape' motif is wider than an A4 sheet, and a figural pattern is scaled down to fit rather than cropped — so the print would be the same drawing at the same size as its longer-distance siblings, and the distance in its title would stop being a property of the sheet you hold. It is still sized by the viewing distance on US Letter, which is the sheet this card ships (§10 Q3.7; owner `Q-26aR-06`)

What is on this page

Every pattern family this stage allows appears here — Bullseye, Stripes, Checkerboard, Dots, Spiral, Sunburst, Single shape, Schematic face. They do not all appear at every distance, and that is deliberate: past the distance where a single big figure is already as wide as the sheet, the longer-distance versions would be the same drawing at the same size, so4 combinations on this page are not published. For a card that has to work from across a room, pick a repeating pattern: it crops at true scale, so its features keep the size the distance asks for.
