Privacy
Short version: everything runs in your browser, we collect nothing, and your photos never leave your device. There are no accounts, no cookies, and no tracking.
Everything runs on your device
This is a static website: your browser downloads the page and a small program, and all the work — sizing, drawing the pattern, converting an uploaded image, and building the print-ready PDF — happens locally in your browser. There is no server doing the generation, so there is nothing for us to receive, see, or store. It’s the same reason the tool can work offline once you’ve loaded it.
What we collect: nothing
- No accounts, no sign-in. You never create a profile or give us an email.
- No analytics, no tracking, no advertising. There are no analytics scripts, no cookies set by the app, no fingerprinting, and no third-party trackers or ad networks.
- No third-party embeds. The pages don’t pull in outside fonts, scripts, or widgets that could watch you. The interface uses your system fonts.
- We don’t collect personal data — not a date of birth, not a gestational age, not a measured acuity, not anything you type into the generator.
Photos you upload never leave your device
When you turn a photo into a card, the image is decoded and converted entirely on your device. It is never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and it is never saved anywhere unless you save the resulting PDF. This is a deliberate design choice, because people upload photos of children. Close the tab and the image is gone.
Share links carry only the design — never you
“Copy share link” encodes your settings (pattern, colour, size, distance, and so on) so someone else can reproduce the same design. It deliberately carries no personal data: no date of birth, no “as of” date, no gestational age, and no image. A guided (age-based) design is shared as its derived acuity and stage, so a link is a design, not a child’s profile.
The settings live in the part of the URL after the # (the “fragment”), which browsers never send to the server — so even the act of opening a shared link doesn’t transmit the design to the host.
What’s stored on your device (and only there)
The app uses your browser’s local storage for exactly one small convenience. It stays on your device and you can clear it any time by clearing site data:
- Language choice
- If you pick a UI language, that single preference is remembered so the site doesn’t keep asking.
An earlier version of the site also offered “saved designs”, kept in local storage. That feature has been removed. Nothing was ever uploaded, and if your browser still holds an entry from back then, the site no longer reads it — clearing site data removes it. To keep a design now, copy its share link.
Hosting
The site is served as plain static files by a content-delivery network. As with visiting any website, your device makes a normal request to fetch those files, which necessarily involves your IP address and standard connection information at the network level. We do not add any analytics or tracking on top of that, and the application itself sends no data about what you generate anywhere.
In short: the tool is designed so that the sensitive parts of your use — who the card is for, and any photo you convert — stay on your device and are never transmitted.
